National Poetry Day 6th October 2022. Blood Lines Poem 31
Happy National Poetry Day Juliet! Another wonderful poem from you 🙂
The quilt is beautiful.... it reminds me of a quilt that one of my grandsons had. He was born prematurely and all the babies in the unit were given a quilt made from preloved baby clothes. He was so comforted by it.... I think he still has it somewhere..... he’ll be 8 in February 😊
Yes, the so-so diagnosis. x
Love it Juliet, something very calm and comforting about this poem, I can almost feel my breathing slowing down - and the quilt looks amazing! ☺️❤️xx
Thank you for writing and wondering. Just to elaborate a bit on your metaphor . . . . I am not sure a patchwork quilt should ever be finished. What matters most is the patching and the working. It is a special quilting circle you are making.
"the patchwork grows
warmer and stronger
she sews and she sews"
A seamstress, yes, but so much more a sower.
